Why a "Fat Bicycle"
The Progression of my changing touring style over the last 10 years.
I've been stuck in sand, mud, water, and snow.
There had to be a better solution. Then Fat bikes started to become popular.
The idea was born 5 years ago.
I'm just about set up with a bike I believe will be able to tackle Australia's remote, rough, sandy, tracks this land has to offer.
With 4 inch tires at the moment & can go up to 4.4 now or if I add Rohloff speed hub 4.8 Inches.
This allows you to ride/push over terrain you could just not ride on a conventional bike.
The tyre pressure is in the range from 5-8 PSI to 30 PSI this allows you to run very low pressure to spread the load over the surface.
